MacBook charge limit and high-charge exposure
Modern macOS can manage the charging limit directly. Anode does not replace or override that system feature; it helps you see whether your observed plugged-in routine matches the setting you chose.
Charge Limit is built into current macOS
On Apple-silicon Macs with macOS Tahoe 26.4 or later, Apple provides a Charge Limit between 80 and 100 percent. Optimised Battery Charging is also designed to reduce time spent fully charged by learning the daily routine. Use Battery settings for actual charging control.
What high-charge exposure measures
Anode measures the share of recorded plugged-in time spent at or above 80 percent. It is a behavioural summary, not a wear score. A high number may be perfectly intentional before travel; it simply makes an invisible routine visible.
Choose a setting that fits your day
A lower limit trades some unplugged runtime for less time at a full state of charge. If you regularly need every hour away from a socket, that trade-off may not suit you. Review the history over several days before changing the system setting.
Start with the current macOS message
The manual charging-status checklist helps separate a charging hold or limit from observations that need attention. It does not read your battery or diagnose hardware.
